and also Dagmar, I count two confirmed parallels. ahaa sorry. I'm done with this I didn't really come here to piss people off and get upset. I was just sticking up for the guy because he wasn't telling any of you what to do, he wasn't demanding you play as a Nord. He was just simply pointing out the COMPLETELY f***ing OBIVOUS fact that it makes much more sense to play as a Nord. becaause whether or not you can play as another race doesn't discount the fact that all of these games are written with a certain race in mind for tha MQ.
I'm seriously done now. Apologies if I offended any of youarrogant fanboys.Fine people.
I see your point, and a lot of people have taken this way too seriously. But, your opinion that Nord is the obvious choice is just that, your opinion. Let me show why I have played as a non-Nord before.
1. The player is crossing the border INTO Skyrim. I know, maybe they're a Nord who's been travelling, maybe they've lived elsewhere, whatever. The point is, the game is allowing that flexibility as soon as the game starts - it is what you make it - a role-playing game.
2. Not all Dragonborns were Nords. As said by another poster, an Imperial was the first Dragonborn. Even Talos is thought to be a Breton (see The Arcturian Heresy). The Gods are supposedly the ones who grant the gift of the Dragon blood, to the one(s) they deem worthy, that's how I justified playing an Orc Dragonborn.
3. There's nothing in the game which says you have to be Dragonborn. Maybe you're a criminal on the run, or just a traveller looking for work. Maybe you're a Dark Elf made homeless by the events in Morrowind. Have a little imagination, and you'll enjoy the game a lot more.
