I would LOVE to see someone pull this off for a mod Pretty funny. Don't some guns have built-in flashlights though? Some games will do that.

They sure do! That's what made the game silly. Lamp attachments to firearms have been around for about as long as there have been lamps and firearms. I personally own an HK 9mm handgun with a laser/light mounted to the lower rails. The notion that there would be no such attachments for weapons in the near future in which Doom 3 takes place is ridiculous. More absurd, and the point cited by the mod developer, there MUST be a roll of duct tape SOMEWHERE on that Mars facility! Even without that, there are methods of accurately holding a handgun or rifle and a flashlight simultaneously; just check out an episode of COPS to see how they do it!
