Does every character have to be Dragonborn? What are some different paths you can take other than becoming a Dragonborn? I know you can be a vampire lord. Are there any specific paths for mages?
It's already installed, so is Dragonborn. The thing is this will not be my only character or adventure, many players start over with new characters. Why would they have vampires kill important people? That sounds moronic. Hopefully it does not happen often. Besides I thought it only gets activated at a certain level.Don't install Dawnguard until you are ready to play it. The Vampire attacks on the towns kill a lot of NPC's, many of whom have quests. I'm not sure why the game allows their death. I went in to Solitude and all the market vendors were dead. That's fluffed up.
There is a house you can buy in every major hold as well as a collection of "safe" locations to store things. Here's a list of safe locations: Category:Skyrim-Places-Safe - UESPWikiCan you ever create a camp? Or buy someplace you can store stuff? Maybe buy a house or little cabin?I always find myself hugely bogged down with just about everything I can get a hold of. It is just a bit much. I have a problem trading sometimes. The trader is sleeping or something most times. A lot of times I have to through away valuable things, which would really help me pay for training, if I could trade them in.
You can't make a camp of any form unless you are on PC with certain mods. As for hunting, it will take more than one arrow to kill an elk at lower levels, and bears will rape you unless you are experienced and a decent level. You will find bears at random in the wilderness. As for raising Sneak, you must be sneaking with enemies nearby and undetected for it to raise. Sneak attacks and moving while undetected near enemies raises Sneak. The Stone only gives you a 20% boost on what Sneak XP you gain normally. If you would like some help in stealth there is a guide on these forums that I wrote on stealth. http://skyrimforum.com/threads/stealth-thievery-assassination-a-look-at-being-silent-and-unseen.12073/When you're out in the wilderness, can you start a fire, cook food, sleep etc? If you can how do you do it. Can you get a tinderbox or something? Where can I find bears to hunt? Any tips on hunting elk? Everytime I shoot one it runs away. I am an Argonian, but my sneak skill never increases, even though activated the thief stone.
If you stand on top of a rock where the giant can't reach you you can kill it at level one, otherwise giants are about level 15-30+ before you can fight one depending on your build, difficulty level, and experience. Also, I am level 5 and came across a giant who smote me to ruin, with one stroke of his club. Craziest thing I ever saw in a game. This particular giant was not very friendly at all. How long will it be before I can go back and kick the hell out of this giant? And his friend in the distance?
This game has a lot to figure out and takes time to learn everything. I have been playing the game heavily since day one and I sometimes, though now it's becoming less frequent, still learn something new. Skyrim is a game that you can breeze through if you use exploits and glitches, but become completely unstoppable at even at level 1 if you as the player possess the right skills and tactics. I like to say Skyrim is 75% player skill, 15% character skill, 10% gear.Anyway, I am trying to slowly learn. Right now I have the love triangle going on and the elf archer is escorting me to some camp where I have to kill the barbarian leader. On the way is where I met the giant. Sorry for being such a noob. This is a great game though. Thank god my fiance loves her own video games, or I'd be in real trouble. BTW I play on Xbox 360
That reminds me of my first character, She picked up Rockjoint or something and everyone was commented about her being sick, and I had no idea how to know if she had gotten a disease or not. But as zane above said, check your "active effects" under you magic menu, and if you have something, drink a cure potion or visit any of the shrines. In Whiterun, there's three shrines:Everyone was telling me things like, you look worse than I feel. Everywhere I went. I was like what is going on here. Then I went to Whiterun and the potion lady there said I had Antoxia, some disease. First off where does it come from? And how can I tell from looking at my character info and tell if he has a disease or not? Do you just have to wait for people to tell you that you look sick? Aren't some diseases harder to detect?
