MabFaerie
Faerie Queen
"I shouldn't." She shook her head, hesitant about keeping Hales cloak, especially on such a cold night.
"Besides, I'm sure the tent will be plenty warm. After all, there's no way in Skryim that Alice would allow Lilumae to be cold while sleeping. I'd wager it might even be a fire risk in there." Winter teased, but a gust of cold wind forced a shiver from her frame, making her slip the cloak back onto her shoulders almost immediately.
"I'll give it back when we get to camp, I won't need it then." She promised, accepting Hales offered arm and taking the short walk back to camp with him.
A few feet from the entrance to the camp, Winter stopped, looking at Hale for a moment, seeming as if she were about to say something.
With a sharp intake of breath, she shrugged her shoulders free of the cloak and then exhaled on a sigh.
"This belongs to you." She held the cloak out to him and after a short second or so pause, she pushed it into his hands, firmly grasping them around the cloak, determined to make sure he took it back.
"I need to get back to the tent. Lilumae will be restless without me." Winter explained, though her feet stayed firmly rooted to the spot where she stood, as if they had their own agenda.
"Will you be keeping watch in the woods tonight? Is that why you were there in the first place? Or did your thoughts get the best of you... like they did to me?" She asked, searching Hales face, gauging him for a response.
"And... Will I find you there again sometime?" She asked, before slowly taking a step back, just one, towards the camp.
It was hard to say for sure, but there was something about that question and the way she phrased it that made it seem like both an inquiry and an offer rolled into one.
