Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Expected to Bring Improvements
Gamespot (via Event Hubs) recently revealed some new gameplay videos for what gamers can expect for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite after sampling a new build of the game. This includes some areas where the new sequel will make improvements over previous entries in the franchise, including Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
For this game, the Infinity Stones will be back as power ups. Longtime fans of the Capcom/Marvel fighting games might remember the Infinity Stones were previously used in Marvel Super Heroes in the 1990s. The Infinity Stones will grant players with some special abilities during the gameplay matches. Also, the X-Factor ability has been dropped.
Additionally, players will reportedly be able to bring in whatever character on their team they want instead of restricting them to things like the Assist attacks. Another new reported feature is the Counter Switch, which players can use to break or interrupt some combos from their opponents. The Counter Switch will cost players two bars, but their partner can then tag in and save them from some extreme damage.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is due out on September 19. The game will be available in multiple editions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. You can check out the Gamespot video with some of the game’s new mechanics below.
