This race has me kinda mixed up a bit . In the ability' s of Nords there is + 10 for two hand and + 5 for one hand . So do you lvl Both or just one ?? I really am likin the Two hander .
My problem is that with a one hander + Shield you can lvl block to 50 lvl which gives 50 % Resistance to Fire Shock and Frost ..... with out that how can you off set not having those ? Like for when a Dragon is hitting you with Fire . K Tks hope this is not to confusing a Question .
Really it's all up to you. If you want, you can do both and murder everything. I highly doubt you'll have trouble with perks, considering when I use all 4 schools of magic I still have enough.
Normally, people either pick Dual Wield, One handed with shield, or two handed. I've seen a lot of people use archery with one of those so they have the range advantage when need be. If you're having a blast with two handed, you can make that your main one, and use one handed whenever you feel like it. Although, if you go the one handed route, I do suggest a shield as it makes it a little more entertaining.
For magic resistance: You have a few options. Are you going to do enchanting? If so, this is where most of your options are. You can either get the magic resist damage, fire resist damage, shock resist, or frost resist. While the generic "magic resistance" protects you from all schools of magic, the percentage it does is significantly lower than fire, frost, or shock alone. From what I've noticed, frost and fire are the most used magic against you.
What I do: I enchant a few pieces of attire with both fire and frost resistance at around 45% (from what I can remember with dual enchanting perk). Since the max you can resist is 85% of magic damage, you only need 2 pieces. Now, when those pesky mages attack you, you'll be all set to go
