In addition to pure Warrior, Mage and Thief, the Warrior/Mage (BattleMage) and Warrior/Thief (Assassin) combinations are common. What do people usually term a Mage/Thief combination?
I never use Destruction with Nightblades, there's no sneak bonus for it, and yeah, the exploding fireball tends to clue them in. My basic build is (Dunmer) 1H, Sneak, Illusion, Alchemy (for poison) Light Armor, and a little Archery, mostly for Dragons. Or, Destruction instead of a Bow (no need to let the bonus go to waste) to zot Dragons, then switch back to Nightblade when they're dead.Mage/Thief are usually considered Nightblade, even though nightblade are a liitle more combat oriented. Nightblade has the thief skill and use mostly sneak attack for offense, or Destruction. But destruction are not very discreet...For defense, they use sneak and Illusion
