I WILL SEE YOU AT NYCC! first lay down a base coat of acrylic if you use sculpey otherwise your mask will be a sticky hellish mess once that acrylic is cured you can then paint over it with paints selected from a car model hobby shop that is where they have the best mock metallic paints ... i used an air brush paint and slopped it on in layers with a paint brush .. it was called faspearl, very opaque but once layered over the black it was beautiful and caught light amazingly ... the black gave it a very antiqued filthy look .. i did not layer as much around the eye hallows or in cracks of the mask so the beveling really showed through i plan on making another version of him ..a bit larger so i can make some copies for friends of mine
Awesome. Thanks for the tips. I find myself being a bit artsy, but it's tough to find the proper resources/kiln in the city without some money and a good connection... But hey, maybe some paper mâché is my friend?? Haha. If I see u at nycc, what are u wearing? Aela? Or something original? Still hasn't decided.
the inspiration for the armor was a mod i downloaded a while back, for female armor changes... when i first got skyrim ... my very first character was basically me as a nord and i forget what armor it was exactly but i pulled out my sketch pad rotated my character and drew it up for when i made my skyrim armor i just kept picking things here and there that caught my eye but my favorite things were the dragon priest masks .. once on they looked so menacing and grim i just loved them! when i have the resources i would love to make daedric armor perhaps out of leather (once i stopped eating all my daedric hearts like a jerk and made that armor i was stuck on it)
