"Very well, I'll try to be quick." Micael walks into the long house. The gloom inside is broken by slots in the thatched roof for smoke to escape and small oil lanterns mounted into pillars along the central hall. Speaking to an attendant Micael is lead to the guest hall which houses the Imperial command in Falkreath. He is greater by a tall uniformed Redguard his hair cropped short and a stern look on his face. "I am Commander A'Shan. What brings you into my hold?"
Micael silently searches through h8s bag before retrieving a sealed document and a small pendant, similar to a "rook" in chess, carved from marble. "Auxiliary Micael Ro'o reporting sir. I've been sent here to evaluate your hold as well as the others."
The commander cracks the documents seal and reads silently to himself for a moment. He sighs heavily to himself setting the papers onto the table top. "And how can I aid your evaluation of this dismal hold?"
Micael walks over to a map laid out on the table, inspecting it as he speaks, "Commander I have been here a day and already I know that while the Jarl has claimed loyalty to the Empire his family is at odds over this. It makes me question the loyalty of the people. Have you seen anything that might indicate a Stormcloak presence in the area?"
Slowly rubbing his temples in agitation the commander replies, "We have our suspicions but no proof. The Jarl does not send troops to fight but his timber is invaluable. However the most productive logging site has been raided time and again by bandits. Nothing is stolen no one is killed, the workers are simply run off. The Jarl has not commited his own men to anything more than a cursory investigation. I believe either these raiders are in fact Stormcloaks trying to deny us resources, or the Jarl is playing us for fools claiming loyalty while denying us his aid. Neither is certain."
"Hmm. I'll speak with the Jarl as a third party and investigate. If nothing else I will discover this Jarl's true allegiances."
Micael speaks to the Jarl's assistant and only after much haggling a debate is given the job. However rather than killing the bandits and driving them off the official job is to simply scout the bandits in the area. Micael accepts mentally noting the odd request before leaving and searching for his guide once again.
