Name: Do’ Janqu
Alias: The Great Hunter
Age: 35
Race: Khajiit (Cathay-Raht)
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 180 Lbs.
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Preferences: Khajiits
Combat Preference: Do’ Janqu is a skirmisher. Taking advantage of his agility and increase size to dance around and eventually overwhelm his opponents. His favored weapons asides from his claws are swords, axes, and nets. Though his hit-and-run style displays some cunning, his fighting style is still very direct and brutal. While he has been known to use other weapons, he always ends up falling back to his preferred weapons.
For armor, he favors medium armor. Best described as leather with steel plates attached. It should be noted that his chest piece is cut to reveal his mid-section to allow for more flexibility and acrobatics. Attached to the armor are various trophies, ranging from teeth of fallen foes (Khajiit, Argonian, and beast) to bits of scavenged armor. He has large shoulder pieces from Imperial soldiers for his right shoulder and a torn up and reshaped Elvish helmet for his left. He doesn’t wear a helmet finding it stifling and uncomfortable on his ears. He wears greaves, but not full shoes so he can use the claws on his feet for traction and possibly as a weapon.
Ever pragmatic, it is rumored he has enchanted equipment (specifically his armor) to help his combat prowess.
Character Appearance: A large anthropomorphic cat, like most Khajiit. But he is larger than most khajiit seen outside Elswyr. It is best described as he is to normal Cathay Khajiit as a Nord is to an Imperial. He looks more like a Jaguar though his fur is a stark white, with faintly yellow spots. He has golden-yellow eyes. He does have various scars lining his body revealing pale pink scars beneath. His main is braided into savage looking dreadlocks tipped with more trophies (Teeth, claws, and arrowheads).
Personality:
In a fight- Brazen, boisterous, hair trigger temper (Especially an issue when the battle is just ending), bloodthirsty, and obsessed with finding a worthy opponent.
On The Hunt- Calm and analytical, laser focused on his target, eerily quiet compared to his vocal approach in open combat, turns very distant and cold, obsessed with finding a worthy opponent.
Outside the Arena- A bit callous, but polite. To those he likes he shows a more fun loving side. Nice to all children, and doesn’t go out of his way to start fights. Though he still carries some menace he proves to be a relatively well adjusted person, though there are hints he is containing some personal savagery. Shows little interest in most intellectual pursuits but loves little riddles and rhymes.
Background: Back in Elswyr, Do’ Janqu was born in Torval, on the border of the Tenmor Forest and Valenwood. He was at an early age trained to hunt and perform various labor activities for the tribe. He proved to be a great hunter, and soon was selected by the Elders to become a warrior as was tradition for the Cathay-Raht. As it was taught to him “Hunting and War are not two sides of the same coin, they are the very same side. Only difference is that War is even more exhilarating.” And it seemed true for the young warrior. As his training began, he found himself finally faced with a challenge. Before he was always among the biggest and the strongest, but in training he was dwarfed by his other recruits. With the strenuous training he received though, he soon grew to standards. As the Thalmor began making moves against the Empire, Do’ Janqu was among the warriors and soldiers selected by the Thalmor to harass the Empire and it’s supply lines. Leyawiin and Bravil were the main focus of their raiding parties.
Do’ Janqu always took it upon himself to study the groups that they were attacking, liking it to stalking prey back home. It also led to him often singling out who he thought was the strongest and jeopardizing the mission, seeking some personal glory or honor. It soon grew evident his loyalty wasn’t to the cause but to his own pride and “sense of Hunter’s honor.” This lead to his expulsion from the raiding parties, a warrior without a band to fight in, Do’ Janqu tried going back to hunting animals. While sometimes we would get a hint of that old excitement he felt hunting Imperials would creep in, he was bored. So he decided he would leave and travel Tameriel. Looking for something resembling purpose again. This was how he learned he was still being watched by the Thalmor. The official edict was “We won’t use you, but that doesn’t mean we can just let you do what you want.”
He managed to elude them for a while, hiding in the wilderness, but soon he found himself being hunted by members of his old band. Do’ Janqu for all his skill was still not the strongest of his band, he may have had the most balanced skillset but he couldn’t face the idea of killing his comrades or even trying to. So he fled, tail between his legs. He left Elswyr, running to the heart of Cyrrodil. Hiding among his enemy, and hoping no one would recognize him, and be protected. While in Skingrad he heard of the Arena, and with a smile, he knew he found a place for him.
He often just tells people he was born in Skingrad, to avoid any trouble that may arise.
