What is the difference between these two builds? Both use the same skills. Archery, one handed, light armor, and sneak. Is it just the play style? as in what you chose to do in the world and how you interact with NPC's?

The skills are similar enough that you could plan to be an Archer-Thief-Assassin without losing any deficiencies. I've just started that aspect of the game (beginning with the Thieves Guild) after I've already completed most of the mage/knight quest lines as a warrior type. It will be interesting to see how far I'm able to progress before being disadvantaged due to my current build; so far i'm about 4 quests into the main line and haven't encountered any difficulties.

I don't think archer and thief are all that similar. IMO, true thief never kills and only steals. Of course, the nature of Skyrim gameplay won't let you do that. But thief would mainly focus on pickpocketing and sneaking. Hide when you are found, break in and steal etc. As for archer... Just archery. You don't have to be sneaky to be an archer. I play as a hunter which is a subclass of archer I guess.

Well I play Assassin/Archer/Thief and I like it because I can kill from far away sneak up on people with a blade (15x damage) and when I need money I just go stiling.

I've been playing an archer and I would have to disagree about being sneaky. Combining the two makes for some deadly kills. If you are sneaky, they can't hear/see you and you can get the sneak bonus hits. Go up the sneak perks to get Critical Aim and you get more bonus to damage.

As for the OP question, I think it is a matter of play style. I use all the skills you mentioned and a few others. As an archer I've focused on the Archery and Sneak primarily.

yeah, I am thinking more in terms of role-playing. Sneaking and archery go too well together to ignore.

Hmm, I would think (often dangerous for me) that even in roleplaying as an archer, that sneak would be important. Like you have to sneak up on them rabbits to shoot them, bastards have the best hearing in the game I swear! Same would work for "hunting" any creature. If you're sneaking you have a better chance at hitting/killing them first.
