Well, the reason I'm wondering is because it would set the tone for the battle.
If it were an old structure, it could mean something significant (whether we know it or not), and so it's a siege by the enemies to take it for themselves. Like, it could be a node that channels the Aspects' energies all throughout the surrounding area. Something like that.
If it's a temporary thing (even with just some random rubble), then we'd likely be up against a small party of raiding enemies that could just be wandering on patrol or something. Or, they could have been headed for something major, and stopped to fight us along the way.
