Also, if you have the 360 version, then you can continue with your save on the PC (something that I did).
For PS3, it requires a bit more steps (360 only needs a USB and a free program called Horizon or something similar), and as I don't own a PS3, I can't say how tricky it can be.
Only thing is, is that you will have to clean your save (remove the scripts and useless IDs) which are very simple, and the tools are on the Nexus site.
Typically, you can load your save up without a problem on the computer with nothing needed, but to actually play it with a lot heavy script based mods (Imp's Complex Needs, FNIS, Overhauls, Project Reality, etc) it becomes too much of a burden on the save, and will start to freeze frequently, so cleaning the save is a great thing to do if you don't want to start over.
This also applies to people with old saves that have only ever been on the PC that are a bit too big.
It sounds complicated, but when you are following the steps, it is actually quite simple.
Back on to the Xbox Controller question (despite it being answered), I also use an Xbox controller for the game, and with no problems.
I do have a Wireless Adapter which works, and you can find on Amazon for about $10 to $15, and these work for any Xbox wireless products (headsets and controllers).
I started using a wired controller ever since I found one, as I don't need to get new batteries anymore.
I also recommend
this button layout as it gives some additional useful features.
