How do you backstab a Dragon?
So, I've started my mage character for my return to Skyrim and am having fun with necromancy.
By level 22 or so I've a 90 in conjuration already, and had the ritual stone as well as revenant on hand.
At Saarthal, after Tolfdir deserted me, Lydia and I are making our way through Saarthal and hit the room with the Drauger Deathlord. Needless to say, I summoned my Dremora Lord (using my newly acquired spell) and it was no contest. Between Lyd's and Butch (that's what I call my Lord), the Deathlord went down quick.
Now, on a larf, and knowing that Jyrik was coming up pretty quick, I used my staff of Dread Zombie on the Deathlord and, at the same time, and completely by mistake used my Ritual Stone Power when, lo and behold, apparently, every drauger I'd taken out on my route here started to pour through the double door behind us (there must have been a dozen!).
I had thought they'd start disappearing rather quickly after that, but, by the time I made it to the final door to the entry to Jyrik's chamber and the Orb, everybody was still there!
I knew something was up and yet Tolfdir didn't say a thing about my hord of undead followers, nor did Lyd's (although I'm sure she used to it at this point, as many as she's seen me raise ).
Sure, Tolfdir had to suck some energy from the Orb for Jyrik to be vulnerable, but, boy did he go down in that dogpile in seconds once it happened.
The problem I have now, is that, apparently, I have a long term group following me about - a drauger deathlord, a dremora lord (Butch), Lydia and about a dozen assorted drauger from restless to wights. They've followed me until I turned the game off last night! (It was almost 2 hours at that point).
Needless to say, while fun, it's a bit crowded and it's a bit boring to never having to be in actual combat.
Odd thing is, as we walked back to Whiterun last night (BTW Fort Kastav was absolutely no issue, since, apparently, neither my Dremora nor my Deathlord can die, although I'll admit, I did lose 2 of my restless's), I still seem to be able to raise just about anything, from bandits to vampires to frostbite spiders and they behave like normal raised dead (turning to ash in about a minute).
I hope I don't have this horde with me forever more. I hate to think I needed to kill them all myself (and, at this point, I don't even know if I can kill the Deathlord or the Dremora).
This is one weird glitch!
