Bethesda and the New Millenium – 2000s
During the 1990s Bethesda was a very busy and productive studio, releasing an average of one game per year. As the years ticked away, the game developer welcomed the era of the 21 century as a giant. It had already tolled out The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard in 1998 and was now ready for rigger feats.
The studio opened the millennium with new video games that would break historic records over and over again.
PBA Bowling 2 – 2000
This sequel was Bethesda’s entry into the new century. PBA Bowling 2 did so well, that a year later it launched PBA Tour Bowling in 2001. Players could compete against AI opponents or their friends, or create their own bowling legend.
Sea Dogs – 2000
This pirate-focused RPG was published in North America by Bethesda. Players are placed in the boots of a pirate named Nicholas Sharp and given free rein to explore the world of treasure, quests, and ship battles.
IHRA Motorsports Drag Racing – 2000
Bethesda made a new drag racing simulator in 2000, dubbed IHRA Motorsports Drag Racing. The game focused on quick races with customizable cars. The game turned into a franchise for Bethesda, which revisited the drag racing world annually for the next few years.
Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel – 2001
By 2001, the studio had its hands full with many sequels rolling out to hungry players. Fallout was one of them along with IHRA Motorsports. However, the company saw great earnings that kept its name on the bright side of fame.
Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel gave players control over a squadron of soldiers. players guided this squadron of soldiers to destroy Fallout enemies. After acquiring the Fallout license in 2007, Bethesda released Fallout Tactics as part of its Fallout: Classics Collection.
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind – 2002
Jumping to 2002, the studio would release an important sequel to the Elder Scrolls. The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind paved the way for The Elder Scrolls franchise and Bethesda to go to new heights by embracing a fully 3D world.
