Dragon’s Lair: Escape from Singe’s Castle – 1987
In bringing Dragon’s Lair: Escape from Singe’s Castle to life, Bethesda helped develop an action game set across eight stages. The gameplay features Dirk the Daring who had to infiltrate the dragon’s lair to find a mythical pot of gold.
Vortex – 1989
Hockey League Simulator – 1990
After releasing Hockey League Simulator in 1990, Bethesda returned to hockey three years later with a sequel. The successful game featured a management simulator where players could take over teams and design their own scenarios.
Wayne Gretzky Hockey 2 – 1990
The Terminator – 1991
A sci-fi action game based on James Cameron’s film franchise, The Terminator is Bethesda’s first licensed title. As Kyle Reese, the game follows the story of a soldier from the future sent back in time to save Sarah Connor. Bethesda secured the Terminator license in which four more Terminator games would be released over the next few years.
Where’s Waldo? – 1991
Home Alone – 1991
It was Bethesda’s second licensed game, Home Alone for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Players controlled Kevin McCallister in the movie’s chaotic third act, using traps to take down the Wet Bandits.
