Skyrim Player Discovers Whiterun Gaurd in Solstheim
Whether you’re a Bethesda veteran or a newcomer to The Elder Scrolls, Skyrim is a polished experience thanks to the Legendary Edition, Special Edition, and Anniversary Edition.
Twelve years since Skyrim was released, it has proven to be the purest expression of what a Bethesda sandbox should be. Even as it expands with tons of mods, sometimes the unexpected can happen. Such is the case in Skyrim, where a player meets a Whiterun Guard on Solstheim, a place outside Whiterun’s jurisdiction.
The most recent Creation Kit incident, however, belongs to a player named Who_Candice. The player shared a screenshot of their Dragonborn coming across a Whiterun Guard.
This strange incident occurs in Solstheim, a territory owned by House Redoran. Since Whiterun Guards do not seem to spawn in Solstheim, it may seem confounding. However, a Game Rant post provided an in-depth explanation.
According to the post, the impacting factor is teleportation. The blog stated:
“When players use fast travel in Skyrim if an NPC is in the middle of attempting to interact with them, they will teleport with the Dragonborn to the target destination. This can include dangerous places or even areas well outside their daily schedule. Once finishing their interaction, the NPC will attempt to take the long way back home, and can often end up dying during the journey.”
