Morrowind Expansion Coming To Elder Scrolls Online
Earlier in the month, curious pokers inspecting the code of Elder Scrolls Online found what appeared to be data suggesting the future addition of Morrowind, the land of Elder Scrolls 3. Today we can confirm they were right.
During the big announcement stream mentioned in the previous article, ZeniMax Online Studios revealed a Morrowind expansion for Elder Scrolls Online is coming. A new player class called The Warden will be introduced (they ride bears, as shown here) and a new player-vs-player mode called Battlegrounds will be added. If new players want to, they can leap into Vvardenfell (the Morrowind area) without completing any of the core game at all. It adds up to over 30 hours of new gameplay and the largest area added to ESO since its launch in 2014.
“Vvardenfell… utilizes the same geographic footprint as The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind,” Zenimax wrote in a press release issued today, “including all key points of interest from the classic game. Players will embark on a dangerous journey… 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls 3, from the docks of Seyda Neen, to the volcanic Ashlands, to dense, mushroom-filled forests, and through the glory of Vivec City, still under construction in this time period.”
If you already have ESO, the Morrowind expansion will cost you $39.99. If you don’t have ESO or the expansion, you can buy both for $59.99. It launches June 6 for Playstation 4, XBox One, PC and Mac.
