Final Fantasy XV Is Targeted For 2016
Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV, told Gamespot that he was pushing toward a 2016 release date for the long, long, long-awaited game.
Well, he didn’t say it specifically, but he “said” it in about as specific a manner as he could without actually saying it. “At the very least,” he started, “I can tell you that it isn’t going to be released this year. I think we’ll be able to tell you when we’re making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month.” He continued, “We can certainly say to people: it’s not going to be 2017. It’s going to be before that.”
Tabata didn’t specifically say 2016, he said “after 2015 but before 2017.” Make up your own mind when that time period might be.
The skeptical ones might point out he could be referring to the Japanese release date. But keep in mind, the man said this at Gamescom, which is a gaming convention in Germany. Europe is often the last region to get a translated version of a globally-released video game. Tabata wouldn’t dare promise “2016” in the middle of Germany if he couldn’t guarantee that date for Germany, would he?
And if Final Fantasy XV makes it to Germany in 2016, it’ll make it to America before then.
