Fallout 4’s Far Harbor Arrives Tomorrow — Here’s Video Proof
Fallout 4’s first big story expansion, Far Harbor, will be going live in less than 24 hours. Described as the largest single area that Bethesda Softworks has ever created for an expansion, the island is based on the real location of Bar Harbor, Maine. (Let’s hope they don’t get mad — the place isn’t nice.)
Far Harbor sounds more vicious than the regular Fallout 4 area, if you can believe it. With unfriendly locals, a community on the verge of war and huge new mutant monsters, it provides an intentionally greater challenge than the main game. Lead producer Phil Nelson puts it this way: “The island is radiation.”
The conflict on Far Harbor is divided into three factions, any of which you can join: the fishermen at the harbor’s port, the cultists known as Children of Atom, and the Synths. “Everyone you meet has their own agendas and goals they try to drag the player into,” adds lead designer William Shen. “Everyone has a sympathetic side, and a side that’s not-so-sympathetic, and you have to decide where you’re going to land.”
If you’d like to see Far Harbor in detail, this Developer’s Diary from Bethesda will give you the tour. It comes out tomorrow at the stroke of midnight for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and will cost $24.99.
