Divinity: Original Sin Getting Upgraded Console Release
Last year a critically acclaimed RPG named Divinity: Original Sin came out for the PC. Now the game’s developer, Larian Studios, has announced today that due to the game’s success, enhanced console versions are being created for current-gen platforms like Playstation 4 and XBox One, as well as a beefed-up PC version you’ll need a strong CPU to handle.
More than just the graphics have been upgraded in Divnity: Original Sin. The enhanced version of the game will contain full voice acting with the pipes of Alix Wilton Regan and Alec Newman, several new endings, a new interface designed for controller compatibility, and both online and local co-op play modes.
They’re calling it the Enhanced Edition, which would be an understatement. There are also hours of new quests included, as well as small tweaks to the storyline, increased difficulty in certain areas, and changes to the crafting system. It was Larian’s goal that the game be worth playing twice if they were publishing it twice.
If you already have the PC version, whether on Windows or Mac, you will be getting the Enhanced Edition for free — but running it depends on the strength of your machine. Full specs have not been announced, but we do know you will need a 64-bit processor and DirectX 11 to get it going.
Divinity: Original Sin: Enhanced Edition will be released later this year. A specific date is yet to be revealed.
