Controversial Fallout 76 Patch Incoming
What’s the latest with Fallout 76? Any new patches to make note of?
Bethesda has been working hard since late last year to try and fix Fallout 76 and make it something that all players can enjoy. But it’s been a long road, and now, it’s about to get even rougher. Because Bethesda recently revealed that Patch 8.5 would bring in a major new item in the form of “Repair Kits”. These items will allow you to repair an item to maximum condition with nothing but the kit.
This is a big add for the game, but, players have noticed that you can actually purchase these repair kits via Microtransactions, which means that those willing to pay will have a distinct advantage over all the other players, and they’re not happy because of this. And though they’ve made waves about it, Bethesda is sticking to their plan:
“First, thank you to everyone in the Fallout 76 community who took the time to share their feedback and concerns about adding a utility item like Repair Kits to the Atomic Shop,” Bethesda said. “Over the past couple weeks, we’ve examined all the feedback and today we want to share our thinking when it comes to these types of items and how they relate to the Atomic Shop. When we originally announced the Atomic Shop last year, we said that it will not provide anything that offers a competitive advantage. We remain committed to that statement and take it into account when we evaluate every new item that we bring to the Shop, both now and in the future.”
