Valin Oakthorn
Vagabond Extraordinaire
They would leave the wolves in their "kennels" for a long time between procedures to avoid them having any heart left in their system fueling them. It had taken months for the perfect situation. Edward had fed the day before Cogan did and as the wizard was leaving in walked a new recruit. The two simultaneously understood that this was their chance.
"Hey you there. Metalhead." Cogan taunted, referring to the man's helmet. His voice was harsh and cold, he had changed in these months. It had been quite a while since he had felt bad for the victims they threw into his cell.
The man ran over, drawing his sword. "Hey! Shut up, Dog!"
"Why don't you come in here and make me?!" Cogan replied, glancing over at Edward who was as calm as ever.
The man wasn't immediately sure how to respond, but his arrogance got the best of him. The man opened up the cage, grumbling and took a swing at Cogan. Cogan ducked with supernatural reflexes and pushed the man against the bars. Edward quickly reached his arm through the bars, grabbing the man by the throat. Cogan's fingers became claws and soon a bloody heart was in his hand. He bit off half of it, swallowing. Then he handed it to Edward and he took a bite as well.
Cogan grabbed the keys and unlocked his and Edward's cell.
"Alright, let's do this." Edward said. They had been planning this for what felt like ages, and now they were enacting their plan.
They charged through the hallways. They pushed guards out of the way and by the time they were climbing steps, several guards were after them. Their armor slowed them down, giving them trouble climbing the steps. As the two reached a metal hatch, it took both of their full strength to barely open it.
Then they were out and on the final stretch. The foggy town of Falkreath was around them.
"Well then. I see they chose an inconspicuous location." Edward blurted out.
How he was making jokes at a time like this was beyond Cogan. He, however, wasn't extremely worried about it. They were headed to riften to meet Edwards contacts. They were finally free from the chains that seemed to be all they knew.
