No, not at all Gidian. For me, it's not about gender inequality, it's simply that when I think about the difference between male and female characters, I don't see a huge amount beyond the physical aspects. People might react differently to characters of different genders or identities, but that's not about the character, that's about the viewer.
In terms of characters, I just see no necessary difference in motivations, beliefs, actions or needs. Either gender can have any of those across the entire spectrum.
