Radiant Historia Getting A 3DS Remake
Did you miss Radiant Historia on the DS? If you did, don’t blame yourself…the title had a short print run and remains an underappreciated classic. You had about two months to buy it before your only option was eBay.
But it may be more appreciated soon. In this week’s Famitsu magazine, Atlus unveiled a deluxe 3DS remake of Radiant Historia called Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology, to be released this summer (in Japan). It’s back, and it’s better than ever. The graphics are obviously a leg up, but the only new content Atlus has mentioned so far is a “new scenario.”
The original Radiant Historia was released in the US in February of 2011. You played a person with the power to go back through time and correct his mistakes. Your ultimate goal was to find the correct path where nothing went wrong, but in terms of gameplay you had a branching timeline map to fill out, so you were encouraged to mess up somewhere just to see the bad results. Radiant Historia was hailed by critics as one of the truly great RPGs that used to be plentiful in the 90’s but had become hard to find by 2011.
Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology will be out June 29 in Japan. A US release has not been confirmed yet.
