Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Wall Market Exposed
What’s the one known area of Midgar we have yet to fully see in Final Fantasy 7 Remake? We’ve seen large sections of the Reactors, we’ve seen bits and pieces of other areas…what’s left? Wall Market…we haven’t seen Wall Market. Until today.
Square released a ton of screenshots from the area today, along with detailed descriptions of some of the characters you’ll meet there, both new and old. See what you think…
Here’s what you’ll see when you first hit the street. The influence of Japanese culture was more pronounced in Wall Market’s design than it was elsewhere in Midgar, and that design is intact (and amplified) here. So is the overabundance of neon and the overall seediness of the area.
This is the street that leads to Don Corneo’s palace. Square says the Wall Market area is almost completely free of Shinra’s influence because the Don is so powerful here. Another notation suggests the Market was built on the top of a collapsed Sector 6, which wasn’t part of the lore in the original version.
And here he is — our first full-frontal view of the most powerful, lecherous and scummy man in town. Corneo has information our crew needs, but it’s going to require undercover infiltration — and a fancy dress.
This is Andrea Rhodea, first glimpsed in the last trailer…he is the owner and lead dancer of the Honeybee Inn and the man who introduces Cloud to the wild world of drag.
Here’s a completely new character….Leslie Kyle, Don Corneo’s assistant. We don’t know much about him but Square says he “has the heart of an old curmudgeon” despite his young age.
Madame M is also brand new. She runs a hand-massage parlor in Wall Market and has the authority to choose Corneo’s companions. It’s her Cloud is going to have to fool, ultimately.
