Final Fantasy 7 Remake Hit With Another Delay
Excited about Final Fantasy 7 Remake being just two months away? Ahh, hold on there, shorty. Guess what happened again?
Yep, another delay, this one a month long. Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the game, put forth the following note early this morning:
We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.
We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
What’s most agonizing about this, from a gamer’s perspective, is watching 2020’s most high-profile releases leapfrog around each other and yet still come too dangerously close. When Final Fantasy 7 Remake was scheduled for March 3, it was separated by a month from Cyberpunk 2077, the Resident Evil 3 remake, and Persona 5 Royal. Now it’s right up next to them again. All we can hope for is yet another delay for some of those other games (let’s be honest, it wouldn’t surprise us).
Final Fantasy 7 Remake should — we make no promises at this point — be out on April 10.
