Fallout 4 Has Now Been Beaten Without A Single Kill

One of the complaints some have had with Fallout 4 is that it seems to kowtow to the dudebro demands of the modern AAA market by making shootouts mandatory. Some fans have responded by trying to find ways to get through the game with as few kills as possible, with the ultimate goal of discovering the zero-kill path. Now someone has done it, and his name is Kyle Hinckley.

Semantics are important here: Kyle beat this game without the Pip Boy tallying a single kill on its monitor. That doesn't mean nobody had to die in the process. The game is structured in such a way that shootouts are unavoidable, but Kyle found a loophole through his character Dizzy, who had a very high charisma stat that allowed her to mind-control enemies into shooting each other, a la Kilgrave. Since Dizzy never technically pulled the trigger, the game thought she hadn't done it even though her involvement was undeniable.

However, Kyle backed out of fights whenever it was possible. In the beginning he trapped the Radroaches into corners of the map so they could no longer follow him, and he often knocked bloodthirsty enemies into OTHER enemies so they would begin fighting each other instead. But what about that all-important XP, which is most commonly generated through fighting? Instead of taking that route, Kyle raised his level to 10 by simply building a structure, tearing it down and building it up again, over and over. Level 10 was just enough to get to the credits with.

If you have time, you can watch Kyle's ridiculous run on YouTube beginning with this video.
