I saw an article on the next version of the Tamriel universe being hosted online. As long as they have a client UI for PC / Console this setup may really work well. One thing that often messes up these hosted versions are when you are forced to interact with other human player characters. As this can open the door to abuse, etc...
Now if they use the hosted service as a huge data processing system for a larger game world, then it makes total sense. The only thing is you have to have a decent internet connection. I would think that most of us do, so I'm very curious to see what they come up with.
