    The Cycle has ended.

Commander Jane Shepard and Admiral David Anderson sacrificed everything to activate the Crucible and destroy the Catalyst, the creator of the Reapers and the ancient intelligence created by the Leviathans. The Crucible did its work, destroying both the Catalyst and the Reapers but severely damaging the mass relays and devastating the Citadel. It took over a week for what was left of C-Sec and the Alliance to find Shepard and Anderson and when they found Anderson's body they feared that Shepard had also died. But just as they were about to turn back Shepard found them, naked, starving and crawling on her hands and knees. After all they had been through, she was alive.

The entire Citadel and all of Earth celebrated in what was known as "The Party heard 'round the galaxy." Shepard made a full recovery on the Citadel and the millions who survived began to rebuild even as they celebrated. It was discovered that the Crucible operated on similar principals to the mass relays, making it possible to rebuild them. With the help of the Keepers, the Citadel was restored to basic working order in a matter of months and the relays to the major homeworlds of the galaxy were restored in less than a year. Those were desperate months but now they galaxy could begin to rebuild.

But the damage done by the Reapers was catastrophic. They had destroyed in weeks civilizations and empires that took thousands of years to build. Some worlds were completely destroyed and others were so damaged that they could never recover. The greatest cities of the age were in ruins and many worlds were cut off as they waited for their relays to be rebuilt. Even now, thirty years after the Reaper War, the galaxy struggles to rebuild. Even worlds that are once again prosperous and lively have significant rebuilding to do and attacks by the now leaderless Reaper soldiers and indoctrination at the corpses of the Reapers themselves remains ever present.

Several unanswered questions also remain. Are the Reapers truly dead? Are there more out there in dark space waiting to strike? Will the Leviathans seek to enslave a weakened galaxy as they did so many million years ago? After so much destruction and with so many worlds still unaccounted for can the Council races ever regain their former glory? Only time will tell.

What happened after Mass Effect 3?

-Commander Jane Shepard survived and initiated the Destroy ending

-Before initiating the Destroy ending, Shepard executed the Catalyst. It screamed like the little bosh'tet it was.

-The Mass Relays were only damaged, not destroyed

-The Crucible did no collateral damage to the galaxy, sparing all non-Reaper synthetic life

-Kaiden Alenko sacrificed himself on Virmire. The rest of the squadmates survived

-Shepard spared the Rachni Queen on Novaria and again on Utukku. The Rachni have spread across Utukku and its surrounding systems and have rebuilt their own Mass Relays, connecting them to the Citadel Network

-Shepard cured the Genophage and the Krogan have expanded across all of Tuchunka. They have also settled Pragia after the Batarians made a bet that they "didn't have the quads to settle that weed garden."

-Shepard made peace with both the Geth and the Quarians and both races now live in harmony on Rannoch. They rebuilt their Mass Relay and integrated it into the Citadel Network.

-Kar'Shan was damaged so badly by the Reapers that it is now uninhabitable. With significant aid from the Alliance the Batarians have settled Virmire and have expanded into the Terminus Systems. They were also granted several worlds in the Skyllian Verge as an olive branch from the Alliance.

-Aria T'Loak has expanded her rule beyond Omega and now rules and empire across much of the Terminus System. This has brought relative peace and order to the region but Aria rules with an iron fist and conflict with the expanding Batarians is inevitable.

What happened to all my squadmates?

-Commander Shepard was promoted to Admiral and became head of the Alliance fleet. She married Garrus Vakarian and they adopted a human baby. Shepard still serves as the head of the Alliance on the Citadel, which still orbits Earth. Garrus now runs all of C-Sec with Commander Bailey. The David Anderson War Memorial was erected on the Presidium and bears the names of every ship, human and otherwise, lost in the Liberation of Earth. A statue of Anderson in his combat fatigues crowns the granite monument and the ship names etched into the monument's side.

-Admiral Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch now runs the Rannoch Heavy Fleet since Han'Garrel's retirement ten years ago.

-General Ashley Williams is now head of the Alliance Marine Corp and personally leads her troops into battle against Reaper Leftovers, Pirates and Slavers. She is still a Council Spectre.

-General James Vega is the head of the N7 program and created the N8 program. A pan-galactic cross species branch of the N7 program that carries out special ops across the galaxy.

-Liara T'Soni still serves as the Shadow Broker and works tirelessly to keep the galaxy together through her information networks, resources and contacts.

-Javik decided to settle on Khaje and now rules the planet. The Hanar worship him as a living god and he has directed bot them and their Drell partners to reclaim their lost worlds and build their fleets, stressing the need to always be strong and ready.

-EDI was officially enlisted into the Alliance as an officer and is now a Captain. She commands the SSV Normandy with Joker as her first officer. He still flies the ship. The planet they landed on at the end of Mass Effect 3 was named Hope and is now a thriving human colony. The largest human colony in existence with cities covering over a third of the planet and over fifteen million people of all races calling it home. Specialist Traynor and Dr. Karin Chakwas still serve.

-Urdnot Wrex and Urdnot Bakara rule Tuckanka as a mated pair. Under their leadership a strong but restrained Krogan Empire is taking shape and the Krogan are rediscovering their ancient culture from before they ruined their own planet.

    - The Kaiden Alenko War Memorial was erected on Virmire and attracts thousands of human pilgrims every month. The Batarians have set aside land for the humans to build a new biotic school around the memorial to replace Grissom Academy.

-The Mordin Solus War Memorial was erected in Tuchanka at the shroud site and draws both Salarian and Krogan pilgrims.

-The Legion War Memorial was erected on Rannoch and draws Geth and Quarian pilgrims. Consensus Station, a massive orbital space station that can house all Geth, was built in geosynchronous orbit above this memorial. The project was a joint Geth-Quarian effort.

-Miranda and Oriana Lawson both live happily on Earth and hunt the remains of Cerberus to this day.

-Jacob Taylor settled down on the Citadel to help rebuild and raise a family.

-Thane Krios was taken home to Khaje, cremated and his ashes spread across the sea. Kolyat returned to the Citadel to live a quiet, peaceful life of comfort to honor his father.

-Samara continues her duties as a Justicar, righting wrongs and helping innocents wherever she finds them

-Jack is a teacher at Alenko Academy on Virmire, administrated by Khalee Sanders

-Urdnot Grunt still leads Aralakh Company and serves as the big gun at Wrex's left side

-Zaeed Massani, now over ninety years old, has retired from mercenary life and taken over the Blue Suns, reforming them into a real protection and security group.

-Kasumi Goto serves as a "procurement specialist" for the Alliance, stealing and infiltrating anything of galactic security.

    Who's on the Council?

-Counselor Tevos still represents the Asari and still serves as the diplomatic face of the Council.

-Counselor Valern died of natural causes ten years after the Reaper War. Captain Kirrahe, now thirty five years old, serves in his place.

-Counselor Speratus, now over sixty, still serves as Turian Counselor.

-Admiral Steven Hackett serves as Humanity's counselor at over eighty years old.

-Due to single-handedly holding the galactic economy together in the first chaotic years after the Reaper War, the Volus have finally been given a seat on the Council. Barla Von represents them

-The Geth and the Quarians share and embassy on the Citadel with Admiral Zaal'Koris vas Rannoch representing them. He no longer needs to wear an environment suit, nor does any Quarian.

    The Current Situation
Even thought he was killed by Commander Shepard on the Citadel during the Reaper War and his power base was destroyed at Cronus Station, Cerberus did not die with the Illusive Man. Like the three headed dog of Greek Mythology the organization is named after, Cerberus always has three distinct leaders, and the Illusive Man ensured that an entire line of succession was established if ever these heads were lost. The Illusive Man and Kai Leng were two of these heads, but there was a third the Alliance did not account for. A third that has survived the Reaper War and the following decades. It had bided its time, built its forces, studied the galaxy as it rebuilds, and now it is ready to strike. An assassination attempt of Urdnot Wrex by Cerberus soldiers, the same sort of indoctrinated soldiers used during the Reaper War, revealed little about the organization's motives but the fact that they were able to strike at all is a serious threat to galactic peace. Even though it failed, ending with Wrex chasing down the last of the assassins himself on the Citadel. The N8 special forces, an Alliance-Council branch of the N7 program composed of the galaxy's best and brightest, have been charged with finding and destroying this resurgent arm of Cerberus.
You are part of the N8 team spearheading this effort. The Council has asked for you due to your exceptional abilities and character. They ask that you attend a meeting to induct you into the N8 program and to brief you on the current situation. Declining is not an option. Good luck.

Weapon Description: All of his guns have been tinkered with and changed in pretty insignificant ways, apart from the Predator handgun, which has an extended high-caliber barrel, melee stunner, a magazine upgrade and has had many parts replaced with ultralight materials.
Fighting style: Uses his Predator as a primary weapon, and is able to deploy turrets and drones to assist in fighting. Possesses strong abilities like Overload, Sabotage, Incinerate and Cryo Blast, as well as the ability to deploy various mines and shields, plus the ability to scan for enemies in the nearby area, marking them as visible through walls and obstacles. As is custom of most Quarian Marines, although Roki is a Combat Engineer, he carries lots of meds and immuno-boosting stimulants into combat.

Bio: Roki was born one year before the Reaper War, as the son of a high-ranking Quarian Marine and a Nurse. His father died fighting the Geth during the war in the brief battle before Rannoch was reclaimed by the Migrant fleet. His mother stayed aboard the ship to help wounded soldiers, as it had not been fully destroyed and was eventually prepared. They managed to recover his father's shotgun, which was passed on to Roki after he successfully completed his pilgrimage. Roki was very intelligent in school and well-respected among his peers, boasting a great number of friends in the early stages of his life. He seemed to have a natural affinity with machinery and, in particular, ships, and so once he left for his pilgrimage he returned to claim a place among the crew of the Quarian Frigate known as the Taeyyra, enlisting in the marines as a combat Engineer.

Just a few weeks into his new posting on board the Taeyyra, the fleet was attacked by pilots. They were fought off easily enough, but the left thruster on the back of the ship had been severely damaged and was leaking tremendous amounts of heat into the ship. Breaking down the material from some leftover DRAs (Diffuse Radiator Array), with the help of a friend under Roki's instruction, they were able to fashion a temporary panel that could be placed inside the thruster, which was gaping wide thanks to the damage, to redirect all of the excess thermal radiation to the outside of the ship, whilst they began work on more permanent repairs. For this, Roki never really received any recognition from his superiors, who had been oblivious to the issue in the first place, but this didn't really bother him.

On his 22nd birthday, Batarian pirates boarded the Taeyyra. Roki was part of a force sent to 'greet' them as they came aboard whilst civilians were evacuated to the upper levels where the pirates would have to go through all sorts of defenses and teams to get to them. However, Roki was wounded in the battle and his team perished, unable to prevent the advance of the Batarians. Luckily, the majority of the civilians had already been evacuated, but still dozens were slaughtered, including the mother and brother of his best friend. When he awoke and was told of what happened, Roki took the full blame upon himself, and grew depressed for a time, devastated that his own lack of skill had cost his dearest friend's family their lives. His best friend was the key figure in helping him get over the depression, telling him it was okay and would've happened one day anyway, motivating him to spend time with doctors to help get over it.

By 24, he had made a full recovery and was working as an engineer again. When one ship in the fleet was separated from the rest and lost in space, Roki forged a very crude long range scanner from old relay parts, to look for the ship, and worked with the comm officer to add some rather shaky communications to the scanner. Using the scanner's signal they were able to hack in to the ship's network and inform the captain of where they were, and where his own ship was as he didn't really seem to know himself, they were able to reunite the ship with the rest of the fleet. Roki was promoted to Chief Engineer aboard the Taeyyra.

Now, however, the Taeyyra has come by the citadel. Since settling on Rannoch, the Quarian migrant fleet dissipated, but the Taeyyra stayed as a patrol ship, scouting known space for potential threats. The Citadel provides a chance to stop and resupply, making sure they have enough food and materials for any situation. That was the plan, at least, before a summons arrived at his quarters, from none other than the council.

Allright Blitzz, I think Roki would make an excellent Chief Engineer for the Liberator. In addition to your current CC I'd like you to edit in the following:

A time when Roki had to solve a problem with one or more of the Taeyyra's systems when it was out in space with limited resources.
A time when Roki solved a problem with the ship and his solution succeeded and how he handled it.
A time when Roki solved a problem with the ship and his solution failed and how he handled it.

Please post here when you're done.

Also, the Quarians have their old immune systems back so they don't need to wear suits anymore. Does Roki have some sort of medical condition that requires he be suited off-planet or does he just prefer to do so out of tradition?

Yes, specific examples and probably yes. One will most likely be the ship's comm officer. A Geth would probably be good at that job.

Hey, this looks awesome. :D I'll try to work on a CC applying for the pilot space soon. One problem I have (seriously, one; pretty much all the end results/choices made are those I made too :p) is N8. N7 was great and all because it was basically a human selection of Spectres, but anyone of any race can be a Spectre. The fact that the human military has made a multi-racial N7 just seems pointless to me.
But anyway, I'll be taking the pilot. Or at least applying for it... >_> <_< It's a good thing you got going here, Simus; very thorough. And that's good :p

Roki has had a hard time... adjusting... to the new galaxy. The enviro suit is a way for him to cling to the past, plus his immune system is abnormally weak.

Great to hear Epic. I look forward to your CC. As for the N8, I needed a reason for a bunch of aliens to serve on a human ship in an official capacity without any of us being Shepard. You have a better idea than N8 without all of us being Dpectres I'd love to hear it. Otherwise it's the best I could think of.

Oh, no; I didn't mean it like that. I just thought it was similar to the Spectres. Sorry if I've caused offence.
So is there any particular constraints I need to be aware of, creating a pilot?

No big Epic. You didn't cause offense. What I meant to say, and it's difficult to say in text, is that I'm open to alternative suggestions. As for all the crew positions you all need to describe 3 scenarios, including Blizz:

    1. A time you succeeded in your position
    2. A time you solved a problem.
    3. A time you failed.

Here's an example for a captain position.

    1. Captain Pookie McWinkle commanded the Alliance frigate SSV Butthurt during the Skyllian Blitz and single handedly took down the Batarian Dreadnought commanded by Hegemony Officer Noname, the son of the Batarian admiral High Hegemon Somethingorather.

    2. During a recon mission in an asteroid field, during which Captain Pookie McWinkle led the Butthurt into a minefield laid by High Hegemon Somethingorather he used mass effect fields to push the mines out of the way using his past experience as an engineer aboard the cruiser SSV Lolcat. The fields worked and he used a makeshift laser phaser gun to engage Somethingorather, who fled to the planet Rickroll.

    3. On Rickroll, Pookie finally had Spmethingorather cornered but the slippery Batarian laid a trap and caved in the entrance to his cave fort, crushing Pookie's away team and wounding him severely. Pookie barely escaped Rickroll and has vowed to hunt down Somethingorather until one of them is dead.

Obviously, no one is going to make a captain named Pookie McWinkle.

    Uh, I didn't do it
Right, so I'm going to repost this here, just for continuity's sake.

    Done, hope you like.

    GENERAL

    Name: Urdnot Kain
    Alias: Nathak
    Race: Krogan
    Age: 54
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Tuchanka
Relatives: His fellow members of Clan Urdnot
Current Residence (Prior to Thread): Tuchanka

    APPEARANCE

    Height: 7’8”
Weight: About one ton in armor.
    Eyes: Blue
Hair: Plates, you mean… Krogan really don’t have hair. His head plate is a black/grey.
    Armour: Onyx heavy armor.
Off Duty Apparel: None. For some reason, no one ever sees him without his armor on.
Description: Kain is very young for a krogan. Though he’s reached his full height and weight, his plates have not completely solidified on his head; though they are nearly there. They are also getting darker as he ages, though for now, a few flecks of his adolescent grey can be seen, though not much. He stands tall, even among his fellow krogan. His head plate is black and his skin is a similar tint to Grunt's. (Imagine Grunt, but with a black head plate instead of grey.)

    tumblr_static_me3-krogan-heavy-armor.jpg

    PERSONALITY

    Laterality: Right
    Sexuality: Straight
    Marital Status: Single
Positive Traits: Rather than most krogan, Kain is quite clever, in particular he has been taught to think tactically, rather than through instinct. While large and intimidating, he is actually quite sensible for a krogan, mostly. He is still young, and is able to pick up new things quickly. He may act like a tough krogan, but he is actually not quick to judge. Chivalrous. Biotic.
Negative Traits: Ego. He hasn’t been beaten yet, but there’s always a first time. Age, people disregard him because, well, he hasn’t even passed his one hundredth name day. But at the same time this lurks in the back of his mind. He fears that he isn't good enough, but he won't admit it; he fears he will never amount to Grunt or Wrex. Stubborn. Impatient at times.
Likes: Fighting, shotguns, explosions, beheadings, and tackling things. He has an affinity for board games and tactical games, or any chance to test his mind against another, not just his body. Also plays a mean hand of Skyllian Five.
Dislikes: People thinking he is unintelligent because of his species, sarcasm.
Fears: Failure and being left behind.
Aspirations: To make a name for himself in clan Urdnot and to, one day, take Wrex’s place.
Quirks: Calm demeanor. Has a secret thing for romance vids, but will never admit it openly.
    Description:

    COMBAT

Weapon Type: Prefers the M-300 Claymore
Weapon Type: Shotgun. Deals high damage at short range; less effective at long range. Effective against armor, shields and biotic barriers. It is of human design but is only used by krogan, due to the fact that the kickback from a single shot has enough force to break a human's arm.
Fighting Style: Vanguard (uses biotics to rush enemy, and to increase shields)

    Biography:

Kain was barely an adult when the Reapers hit Tuchanka, and, just like every able-bodied krogan, he was put straight into the fight. He hadn’t even finished his Rite when they had hit. He was raised one of the many orphans of Tuchanka, his father was dead most likely selling his skills off to the highest mercenary lord, and his mother… he did not know. Though she very might be alive, he does not know who she is due to the separation of male and female camps before the Reaper War.

He was… different than the others, he knew that much. He understood that much. Where they would fight he would instead as why? It was not that he did not wish to prove himself, no, he loved to fight just as much as the rest of his kin, but he felt better when he had a purpose for doing so. Not only was he different emotionally, he was different physically. He was larger than many of his fellows, and he’d been born with the gift of biotics. The genes of a Warlord, the Shaman had said. And he remembered Wrex nodding in agreement.

Many krogan died defending Tuchanka, including most of his brood. Soon his soft spoken ways were taken from him, and he found himself on the front lines; many of the more skilled and battle hardened already having made the ultimate sacrifice.

He fought with honor, and his skill was not overlooked. The day he felled a Reaper Brute with nothing but his own strength, they declared him a full krogan... They declared that he had passed his Rite of Passage... since there was a lack of a Thresher Maw to confirm it.

When Wrex returned from the war he looked to him as his hero. He trained under both Urdnot Wrex and Urdnot Grunt to hone his skills. He served under Grunt, and still serves under the tank-bred to this day. He works with Grunt's personal squad, Arlak Company, working directly under the Chief's command.

Wrex gave him the name “Nathak”, after a wolf like beast that was known to assess its prey before killing it. He said he not only had the strength of a Warlord, but the mind of a leader. He sent Kain out into the world, "To learn its ways. To fight, to live. To cheat death. Then maybe one day, you'll be able to take this chair from under me."

Wrex did not know it, but one day young Kain overheard him say that krogan like him were one of the few hopes for their species.

Kain only hopes one day to live up to that.

(Officers' Note- Andromeda duties: Clear out pirates and smugglers within Council space

Mission file: "Operation Widow" - Joining a ground squad in clearing out a smuggler's hideout, Joseph successfully maintained communication between the Andromeda and the ground. At one point, the Ionosphere of the planet began to severely interfere with communications but Joseph successfully transmitted using a less-clear frequency that is more easily able to resist communications blocks.

Mission File: "Operation Black Moon" - While in a temporary Comm officer position following the re-deployment of that position from the Andromeda, the Andromeda was attacked by a group of pirates. As the blasts shook the ship, the communications technology became inoperable. Joseph acted upon his training and successfully re-routed the communications system into a single messaging system capable of sending out messages to any ships within a system. He successfully messaged an Alliance dreadnought and the Andromeda was saved.

Mission File: "Operation Volkstrum" - While deployed on the field, gunfire wrecked his communications devices and a signal with the Andromeda was lost. Joseph failed to find a solution to the situation and became visibly frustrated, firing off many rounds of his Avenger at fallen foes. The issue was noticed and he has been addressed with the proper solution. (Officers' Note: For clearance, Joseph should have attempted to rig a long-range communicator out of the remnants of his technology and that of the fallen smugglers. It was not a simple solution, but since Joseph shows such promise it is perhaps worrisome he missed it)

So, Simus, I read you wanted One to be the ship's Comm Officer. But I read it after I wrote all that so I figured I'd post it anyway and just change a few things around once I have the chance to. I mean, didn't want all that to just be a total waste!

Edit: Maybe him and One could work together? Or Joseph could be under his tutoring? I mean, it's just that I kinda got into the character a bit
