Disgaea 5 Release Date Announced
Awesome news, dood! Disgaea is officially returning this fall on Playstation 4, and NIS America announced the US release date today: October 6, 2015. The plot isn’t as important as the ridiculously addictive gameplay, but here’s the setup for this installment, courtesy of NIS America, if you’re interested:
As a new and terrible Overlord named Void Dark seeks to enslave the countless Netherworlds, one young demon has stood to end his reign — Killia. In Disgaea 5, lead Killia and his tenacious army of rebels on their dark and dangerous path to vengeance.
In the NIS tradition, the game will be offered in both regular and limited edition varieties. The “regular” edition will have extras of its own if you buy immediately: a reversible cover, art book and soundtrack disc will be included with all launch copies. If that’s not enough for you, though, the Limited Edition piles on a hardcover art book, two-disc complete soundtrack, a figurine of Usalia, and a poster described as “tear-resistant” — all packaged in a collector’s box. (I should point out that the last Disgaea game, Disgaea D-2, had the two-disc complete soundtrack as part of its regular edition.)
Disgaea 5 was unveiled during last year’s Tokyo Game Show in Japan. It was released in that country last March and was confirmed for a Western release before then, in December. Europe will also get the game a few days later, on October 9.
