Bethesda Game ID Software Is Developing Multiple Games
According to Megumi McGowan’s LinkedIn profile, Bethesda currently has multiple games in development. Last week, she posted an entry about how excited she was about her new job as Publishing Producer.
During her interview, McGowan expressed her gratitude to Colin, her former mentor at Tango Gameworks. She also thanked her new boss, Laffy, for allowing her to take part in such exciting id Software projects. As part of her plans, her goal is to take on the new challenge head-on and make a major contribution to the success of the Doom creator by overseeing the development of multiple projects.
Among the new titles in development at id Software is Doom: The Dark Ages. The other game (or games) is anyone’s guess, but it may well be a new Quake or even a sequel to Hexen. The Dark Ages is a first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks and will be the eighth main entry in the Doom series and the third modern entry following 2020’s Doom Eternal. It is a prequel to Doom and is set to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
During the game, the Doom Slayer takes on the role of the last hope for a kingdom battling Hell’s forces. After completing Doom Eternal, id Software began developing The Ancient Gods in 2021. Production began in 2022. It was officially announced in June 2024.
