I just want to point out that spelling Grimm the way you do feels like spelling Mike with a y, as in Myke. It feels like you're trying to be different for no particular reason other than it's own sake. It really doesn't add anything other than that extra m.

    But that's just my opinion.

Well, I felt Grimm was a more common name than Grim. Grim sounds uncommon alongside being just brutally negative. Grimm makes it slightly less negative and emphasises the point that the family aren't really anything special.

    What's that about, Ash?
And Simus, I'll give you the fact that it's a bit of a gimmick, putting it in the name of the RP itself, but it distinguishes it from "A Grim Legacy", which just sounds relatively simple.

Okay, I get that. And yes, A Grimm Legacy is a little spicier that A Grim Legacy.

Physical Being a nord, Baroth has taned skin, like his kin. He has brown eyes and dirty blonde hair that reaches his shoulders. His frame is muscular and well kept, considering all he endured. His health is well, as he doesn't drink mead and wine that often. Overall, his phsique was in good shape and his body wasn't yet useless.

    PERSONALITY

POSITIVE TRAITS Humble, focused, mature, likable, kind, peaceful

    NEGATIVE TRAITS anxious, naïve, skeptical

LIKES Meditating, sweet rolls, fresh fruit juice, dwemer technology, practicing sword skills

DISLIKES Arrogance, politics, being underestimated, extreme heat,

FEARS Spiders, caves, getting lost, failure, vampires, werewolves

ASPIRATIONS Help as many people as possible, see the world, recreate dwemer technology, strengthen his mind, body and spirit.

    QUIRKS Shakes slightly when scared.

Baroth is a down-to-earth guy. All he asks is that you be yourself. Now, that goes without saying that he can’t stand arrogant, corrupt or evil folk. They don’t click well with him. Even so, he has the restraint to not outright lash out at them. In fact, it takes quite a bit for Baroth to get angry. He doesn’t have a temper but once he does get angry or upset, it takes a bit of time for him to finally cool off.

Although he’s naturally curious and wishes to explore and travel, Baroth can’t help but be afraid of the unknown. Skyrim is a dangerous place, riddled with strife and adversity. One wrong move could easily spell your death. However, this hasn’t completely stopped Baroth from pursuing his desire to travel.

Steel Sword naturally enchanted to burn the flesh of it's opponent and weaken their armor with every strike, though it's effects have dulled over the centuries.

Steel Shield naturally enchanted to bounce back half of the momentum to the attacker, adding a boost to shield bashes. (If an enemy rams into your shield, he gets half of that momentum back. The rest is absorbed which gives a boost to shield bashing.)

    RELATIONS
Thalmor [ENEMIES]Baroth has a sharp dislike for the Thalmor. They seek to rule all of Tamriel under a single government where elves hold all positions of power. They are elven supremacists who do nothing more than oppress and harass those who are not of Altmer blood. Plus, they claimed false responsibility for closing the Oblivion Gates when it was truly Martin Septim who sacrificed himself to close the gates and ultimately save the world. In all, Baroth believes the Thalmor to be the true threat to Skyrim and wishes that both the Imperials and the Stormcloaks would combine their efforts to stop them instead of fighting each other. Other than that, Baroth just tries to avoid dealing with the Thalmor whenever possible. Although he does not worship Talos, he still feels that the Thalmor’s presence doesn’t do anyone any sort of good.

Imperial Legion [DISLIKES]Baroth only dislikes the legion for one reason, The Thalmor. If they realize the thalmor are a threat, why not join with the stormcloaks to take them down Baroth hopes that both sides combine their efforts into taking down the Thalmor soon, before they snake their way into taking skyrim.

Stormcloaks [NEUTRAL]Being a Nord, Baroth supports his kin in their effort to overthrow the oppressive goverment of the Empire. On the other hand, he can't stand their racial comments to those who aren't nords. If you're trying to help Skyrim, why does it matter what race you are? Again, he wishes they would combine forces with the Imperial legion to overthrow the Thalmor snakes.

Falmer [NEUTRAL]It is sad how the Falmer came to be. The Dwemer were responsible for their enslavement and their grotesque transformation into the blind beasts they are known as today. Though Baroth is extremely interested in the Dwemer’s technology, he can’t help but think that they were terrible for what they did to the Falmer. It’s a definite tragedy and Baroth only hopes something can be done before the Falmer take to more drastic measures in their plan for complete domination of the surface world.

Forsworn [DISLIKES]After educating himself about the Markarth Incident, Baroth has slightly changed his opinion about the Forsworn. Before, he viewed them as a group of bloodthirsty savages but now, he sees the reasoning behind their constant attacks against the people of the Reach. Still, he wishes that they could find a much more peaceful alternative to settling their differences with the local Nords. Baroth still does his best to avoid dealing with them altogether though.

The Thieves Guild [DISLIKES]To be blunt, Baroth doesn’t like the Thieves’ Guild one bit. They are nothing more than heartless, greedy thugs and they are the main reason why Riften is such a corrupt and dangerous place. He understands that some people have to resort to stealing in order to stay alive. However, those who do it out of greed and malice are rabble. The problem with the Thieves Guild is that the amount of influence they have and rooting out their power will be extremely difficult.

The Companions [LIKES]Baroth respects the Companions. After his many years in their company, Baroth has come to not only like but respect the Companions. And he knows Ysgramor would be proud of his fellow shield-brothers and sisters. Some make them out to be just a band of mindless brutes, but they are actually a family of warriors bound by honor and TRUE purpose. Yes, Ysgramor would be proud indeed.

Mages College [NEUTRAL]Having been blamed by many for the cause of the Great Collapse, it’s not surprising that a majority of Skyrim’s residents are skeptical of the College and of mages in general. Baroth isn’t entirely sure if the College is to blame for Winterhold’s past destruction however he doesn’t hold any sort of hatred for the College or its mages.

The Dark Brotherhood [DISLIKES]Baroth doesn’t know too much about the Dark Brotherhood, other than the fact that they are a shadowy group of assassins who carry out a countless amount of assassination contracts. They are merciless, twisted killers who take joy in ending the lives of others. He tends to avoid anything that remotely deals with the Dark Brotherhood. After all, he doesn’t want trained assassins sent after him.
    HISTORY
Being born in the ravaged, worn-torn continent of Atmora, Baroth was doomed to die. If the War didn't kill you, the wildlife surely would. Wolves, bears, sabercats, horkers. Ancestors to the modern day wildlife gracing Skyrim's breath-taking landscapes. This land was to be both feared and respected, though it's inhabitants beg to differ. Blood is constantly spilled, brother turning on sister, sister turning on mother, Father turning on son. Baroth had lost his parents in this war, killed by a rather large regiment of soldiers, their house sacked and burned; he was left with nothing but the clothes on his back. So, determined to live past the war, Baroth found the hollowed-out tree stump his father made, took the iron gear within, and went on his way.

Inn to inn, tavern to tavern, Baroth traveled the countryside, constantly running from the war that was hot on his heels. It had been almost twenty years since his parents had been killed, and he had just barely survived. Until, at last, he came to it. When all hope had faded beyond recall or desire, he saw it. Gleaming in the distance, shining in the sun, a beacon of hope that warmed Baroth's ever-cold heart. Ysgramor's palace. He knew, being a fellow Nord, Ysgramor would surely help him. Give him supplies, food, rest, armor, a horse maybe. He was so joyed to see it, he almost shed a tear. Almost. Rumor had spread that a visionary, and anyone who desired to follow him, was sailing to the south, in hopes of finding a better life. It appeared he and Baroth were very much alike. As soon as he was done here, he could head over to the visionary and leave this cursed land for good. Hopefully.

However, on his way to the palace, he was injured in the process of trying to save a maiden in distress. Wounded and blooded, Baroth mounted the maiden's horse and allowed her to hurry him towards the palace.

Awaking in the infirmary, Baroth immediately wanted to thank the princess for what she had done. But, like in any other infirmary, the nurse told him to stay put until he was all healed up. The princess, Joldi was her name as she told him, checked in from time to time, making sure he was alive and well. Ysgramor checked in as well, having only short time to talk but much to say.

Over the next ten years of stay at the palace, Baroth was well fed, well taken care of, and well supplied. Seasons came and went, holidays flew by, and the days crept on. Though, in these ten years, he developed a sort of, relationship, with Joldi. They would talk more, and hang around each other more, and sit in the gardens district, discussing the war and the visionary's ship. They both wanted to go, but needed only wait until Ysgramor was ready to go. Then they could both be together, get married, have children even. Speaking of children, he and Joldi had a child on the way. He kept insisting HE was a boy, and she kept saying SHE was a girl. But they never fought over it. He was soft then. Soft for her. Then, that one night rolled around. The night before his birthday.

Baroth was infected that night, cursed to be an immortal hybrid, and had his love taken from him by some ungodly creature; a Nightspawn.

The next day, Baroth awoke to the whole castle in a bustle. Maids were clearing out the kitchens, guards clearing out the barracks, and nurses clearing out the infirmaries. This was when Ysgramor called him to the throne room. He spoke of how the visionary was setting sail in a few days and that he was emptying the city so he could take as many people as possible to the new land to the south. Baroth apologized and apologized about Joldi, but Ysgramor simply shook his head and asked Baroth if he was going with them. He actually had the think about it, considering he kinda felt like he belonged here, but at the same time he wanted to get out of here. Let's face it, the answer is obvious. Baroth agreed to go with Ysgramor and the visionary, prepared to get out of this madness, like he promised himself so long ago. After packing his bags and getting his gear, he had only one more place to stop before he left.

Baroth stopped by the Blacksmith's shop to briefly collect some aarmor he ordered and moved on to join the rest of the city in the ship ride south.

Along the ship ride, Baroth met an Atmoran in particular who said he was destined for something better than this. His name was Eliphas. He said that there was power he could tap that he'd usually only be able to dream about. He said that he deserved better than this Nordic way of life, and with that, eternal power, instead of one-time glory. The way the man spoke of power sounded almost, unnatural, like as if he were dealing with beings far beyond power of himself. Baroth dismissed himself from the conversation, convinced Eliphas was mad, and tried his best to forget about it. After all, what power could possibly be eternal?

After a perilous journey, the ships touched ground in modern day Skyrim, a snowy province of icy peaks, snow, mud, breath-taking mountains, and mighty rivers. But as they soon discovered, the province was already occupied by mer, or Snow Elves, and was thus named Mereth, in honor of them. As his fellow Atmorans grew and prospered alongside the Snow Elves, Baroth took to the mountains and caves. He was eager to explore the new land and make sure it was safe, aside from the nature life and wildlife. Upon studying one of the caves, Baroth saw a faint, glowing light at the far end of the cave. Going to investigate, and breaking down the brittle cave wall, Baroth stumbled upon a city of gold and stone. A fort of pure genius. Occupied by by a race that he soon recognized as, Dwemer.

Over the years Baroth spent in the strange land, he served as a negotiator for the Dwemer Council, which snaked it's way into many conflicts to come. Then, when they went extinct in the mid first era, baroth was left with only what they had left him; hard lessons, cities of genius, and the memories he would hold for centuries to come. And now, in the modern fourth era, Baroth free-lances about Skyrim, serving those in need and sparing none who prey on the weak. But Baroth recognizes that he is only mortal, and does not go to such lengths to prove otherwise.

And thus, he remains; a shadow of his former self, an unsung hero....

    A fallen knight.

(This is a better more upgraded CC for Baroth.)

Triple the lag, Simus. And yes, Blitzz, it does work. If you read the history, Baroth is immortal due to his mixed diseases. He was born in Atmora near the beginning of time, in the Merethic Era.

Thanks, Simus. You have my personal word that i will not push the given abilities past the OP ruel. I respect that rule, EpicVakarian. I'm not a power player, and Baroth is very much mortal in the sense of physical or mental damage. He may be immortal, but he is by no means, invincible.

    • Magicka: Only herbs.
    • Fighting Abilities: Very Capable in Water, Capable on land.
    • Fighting Style: In water Itachree is extremely difficult to beat unless the opponent is also an argonian. (This isn't meant to be overpowered but it even is stated on the wiki that there would be no way to beat someone who has fins and can breath underwater when you're in their natural element.) He will swim around you twisting and clawing until he can get the victim in a hold at which point he will swim straight down until the victim drowns.

On land he is less powerful but can still easily take down a weak opponent. He uses a tommahawk and knife, parrying, and looking for an opening. He will dance around an opponent, dodging, blocking, and parrying looking to either find and opening and deliver a killing blow, or dissarm the opponent. If the opponent is disarmed he will immediately drop his weapons and tackle the opponent (unless the opponent is much bigger than him) and curl around the opponent performing holds, and rolling or twisting to break bones. Eventually he will pin the opponent and perform a chock ultimately killing the oppponent. (Think of a python.)
    Bio
    • In the tribe that Itachree-Jash-R'za comes from, the skinhoods, strength is not measured in ones ability to fight, or lift something, but rather how that person lives their life despite difficult events in their life. It is that way that he has lived up to his cyrodilic name of Swims-with-Strength. For, although his swimming his skillful, he has endured much in his lifetime, yet it takes a skilled eye to see that.

He grew up in the tribe known as the Skinhoods. The name was derived from that fact that those in the tribe had the distinctive cobra hood that extended from their neck in times of anger. His father an mother both loved him very much. Itachree was mentored by them and learned all of the basic tribal argonian skills. He learned to swim, fish, and find medicinal herbs, as well as dance and play a music horn.

It was apparent from early on the he was a good swimmer even for argonian standards. He was taught to fight underwater and to hunt the deadliest aquatic animals. He lived a good life, a happy life.

However, this ended when the tribe was navigating northern black marsh and was encountered by a dark elf slaving party. The tribe fought them off but not without the death of his parents and a few others. Itachree stayed with the pack with a year or tow but eventually felt like there was little left for him there and set off to travel tamriel. He has now found himself cuaght between a racist king and a deadly device.

Okay, great! Right; so fellowknight, your CC will be considered along with the rest when it comes to it, and Valin, you too. However, fellowknight, it could be helpful to cut down Baroth's backstory a little, so that you have something to talk about with other characters. You don't have to, but it may or may not be a good idea to.

    Madrar

    The Shadow in the Dark.
    Basic
    Name: Salthar Vivarian
Age: 236, looks like he is in his early thirties.

    Height/weight: 6'0", 150 LBs.
    Class:Sorcerer/spellsword
    Preferred dialogue colour: This

    Appearance
Hair: Black as midnight, falls to his shoulders.
Eye colour:Gold, with little flecks of red
    Skin colour: pale gold
Build: lean, from his years as a soldier. a few small scars, the most notable just under his left eye.
Usual clothes: (pictures welcome) Thalmor robes, customised with red threading.
(you could include a picture to better clarify your character's appearance, if you like, too)

    Personality
Positive traits: Will not harm a child. Has moments where he is surprisingly kind.
Negative traits: When he wants something, he can be unbearably cruel. Arrogant.
Likes: Learning dark secrets of magic, learning of buried or hidden power, and claiming it for his own.
    Dislikes: Nords, werewolves, most mortals.
    Fears: Losing his power
Aspirations: (if any) As a powerful sorcerer, Salthar really has no further ambitions.

    Combat
Weapons: His magic. An ebony sword.
Fighting style: Think the Soresu form Dooku uses. Relies on tight bladework and subtle dodges, providing maximum defensive coverage, and limiting exposure to ranged weaponry. Basically, Salthars' style is to outlast an opponent, waiting for his enemy to make a fatal mistake, before ending the fight with a single blow.
Skills: Besides his swordsmanship and magic, no real skills.

    Other
Family: A brother, Vengar Vivarian, also a vampire.
Reputation: (if any) Known as the Terror of Falkreath in his early days. One of the few vampires that does not worship Molag Bal.
    Backstory:

Born on the Somerset Isles, Salthar Vivarian was a noble that joined the Dominion army along with his brother. Fought at the battle of Red Ring road, was imprisoned by Imperial forces, but escaped. Eventually, he rejoined the Dominion, and became a member of the Thalmor, and was assigned to Skyrim, with many more Justiciars. Eventually, he met Avira, a female Altmer vampire, fell in love, and was bitten.

Despite his peoples general dislike of the undead, Salthar embraced his vampirism, and lived in peace with Avira, who he'd married. The couples' happiness was short lived, as the commander of the guard, disliking both Salthar, and elves in general, had Avira murdered. Upon discovering his wifes' body, Salthar flew into a rage, and slaughtered a good amount of guardsmen and innocents.

After this, he retreated to the Bloodlet Throne and started his own coven, with his brother. He also began to explore Tamriel, seeking hidden knowledge, and power. Eventually, word of Ulfric Stormcloaks' new weapon reached his ears, and interested in this 'weapon' he leaves his coven to investigate.

Great CC, Madrar. As long as you're prepared to deal with a vampire moving about in sunlight :p It seems just about everyone wants a vampire character. Well, his dislike of Nords could turn out interesting when he's forced to work with Rose and her father, both Nords, at least.
